ARTSFEST 2020
An inclusive and traditional annual exhibition of individual and collaborative original artwork from first and second-year students, Arts Fest provides a public forum for students to share and present their creative ideas broadly with the campus and at-large community. This online version of Arts Fest, a first for the program, is typically held on-campus as part of Maryland Day. This year’s event, reimagined as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, illustrates a compilation of inspired and innovative ideas. The resolve of the Arts Scholars students is on full display as evidenced by the development of their artwork despite sustained isolation from friends and the familiar campus surroundings that normally fuel their creativity.
We encourage you to explore all facets of this exhibition and to take note of a few guideposts along the way. The primary exhibits can be found by way of the Workshop and Capstone galleries, each feature a broad collection of artwork in a variety of styles and mediums. Thematically inspired projects from music production to art therapy, collage, photography and more, are presented across eight contrasting workshops. The capstone exhibition showcases the imaginative and nuanced works conceived and developed by sophomore students as a culmination of their two-year program experience. Take note of the other pages on this site including our community gallery with examples of Arts Scholars in action and our contact page where we encourage you to send a note to tell us about your Arts Fest experience. Use the Arts program icon from the menu atop each site to return to the main Arts Fest homepage from any of the other pages you visit. We hope you take the time to thoroughly enjoy this exhibition and we thank you for celebrating our students’ artistry.
